FAQ

BookDue

Registration & Scanning

How do I register a book?

Tap the "+" button to open the registration screen, then tap "Scan barcode." Point the camera at the barcode on the back cover and the title and due date will be filled in automatically.

What if the barcode won't scan?

You can enter the title and due date manually. All fields can be entered by hand if the barcode cannot be scanned.

Can I register CDs and DVDs?

Yes. Scan the barcode on the case or enter the details manually. Set the item type to "CD/DVD."

How is the due date calculated?

It is calculated automatically from "borrow date + the loan period set for your library." If different libraries have different loan periods, configure each library's loan period in Settings. You can also change the due date manually at any time.

Notifications

When do notifications arrive?

They arrive at the time you set, a specified number of days before the due date. The default is 3 days before and the day before. You can change this in Settings.

If multiple items are due on the same day, will I get multiple notifications?

No. Items due on the same day are grouped into a single notification. Even if you have 5 books due, you will receive only 1 notification.

Will I still receive notifications after marking an item as returned?

No. Returned items are automatically removed from notifications.

Libraries & Borrowers

Can I register multiple libraries?

Yes. You can add multiple libraries in Settings and set a loan period for each. Due dates will be calculated automatically.

Can I manage library cards for different family members?

Yes. Register family members as "borrowers" in Settings. You can record which card was used for each item and filter the list by borrower.

History & Renewals

Where do returned items go?

They move to the History tab. They stay there unless deleted, and you can see how many times you've borrowed each title.

What do I do if I renew a loan?

After renewing at the library's website or counter, tap "Renew" on the item's detail screen and enter the new due date. Notifications will update automatically to match the new date.
